They share the same classrooms and play together on the same teams, but students at Wilcox County High School have two separate proms– one for whites, the other for students of color.
But for one group of students, it’s time for change.
Some members of the senior class, both black and white, say they’re embarrassed their school is stuck in the past.
Last year the police turned away a bi-racial student who tried to attend the “white” prom.
