MENA said that the charges against the four Christians have since been dropped. Apparently, the release of the four could have something to do with the extradition of two members of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime from Egypt, this month. Gaddafi was thrown out of office as the leader of Libya in 2011. MENA also stated that another Christian imprisoned in Tripoli died last month.
A teacher of special needs children in Indiana is speaking out with other Christian parents and students by demanding LGBT kids be banned from a Sullivan High School prom. When asked, teacher Diana Medley responded to a reporter that she believes gay people have no purpose in life, and agrees that anti-gay parents and students should create a separate, “traditional” prom that would ban gay students from attending. Sullivan High School itself is allowing all students to the official prom, but these militant anti-gay Christians are trying to get students to attend their prom instead of the school’s official prom.
The vast majority of Evangelical Christians (72%) believe “the gay and lesbian community is the most active group trying to remove Christian values from the country.” This stands in steep contrast to the rest of the country. Only one in three Americans (31%) overall, regardless of faith, believe gays are trying to remove Christian values from the country. By comparison, just 16 percent of non-Christians believe gays are trying to remove Christian values from the country, and only 42 percent of non-evangelical Christians hold that belief.
