Sitting in the festive lobby of a New Orleans hotel, festooned with San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens decorations, Clemmie Greenlee, a former victim of sex trafficking from Nashville, recalled being brought to cities around the South to prostitute for those attending such large-scale events.

For Greenlee’s pimps, the influx of people provided a massive money-making opportunity.

Bruce Arians was hired by the Arizona Cardinals to be their next head coach. That means out of the eight head coaching hires, none was a candidate of color.

None. Not one. 0-fer-black.

In effect, what NFL owners and general managers of those teams said was this: No minority candidate was good enough to hire for one-quarter of the head coaching jobs in the NFL.

A teen just weeks from his 18th birthday was shot to death in a Chicago State University parking lot Wednesday night following a prep basketball game between two rival schools.

Police told the Chicago Tribune that 17-year-old Tyrone Lawson was shot multiple around 9:20 p.m. outside the CSU Jones Convocation Center near 95th Street and King Drive.

This article covers a long standing debate among professional Africans in America. It is not class that determines race-based behavior but the inherent racism in our systems. It is sadly evident that few of those researching the statistics cannot put aside their hubris long enough to realize that they are also counted in that number. It took a concerned medical physician to shine the light on ivory tower race-based thinking.

Despite being home to many notable Black Americans and being the location of a great deal of Black American history, Lexington, Kentucky has never been seen as having a reputation of being a hospitable place for minorities. Much of this reputation is rooted in the city’s ties to slavery.
